Beating Louisiana Heat, One Window at a Time

Louisiana summers don't play fair. Temperatures regularly push past 100°F, turning your cabin into a convection oven and fading your interior over time. Our ceramic window films create a thermal barrier that blocks up to 98% of infrared heat and 99% of harmful UV radiation -- without compromising visibility.

At Surface Protection Studio, we carry multiple film grades so you get the exact balance of heat rejection, privacy, and appearance you're after. Every installation is precision-cut and backed by a manufacturer warranty.

Privacy, Safety, and Efficiency in One Upgrade

Whether your vehicle is parked at the office or cruising I-10, window tint limits visibility into your cabin -- protecting your belongings and your passengers from prying eyes.

Beyond privacy, quality tint reduces glare from the Louisiana sun and oncoming headlights, making every drive safer and more comfortable. And because your A/C doesn't have to fight as hard, tinted vehicles use less fuel keeping the cabin cool.

More Comfort, Less Energy

A cooler cabin means your climate system runs less aggressively, reducing strain on the compressor and improving overall vehicle efficiency. It's a small upgrade that pays for itself over time.

Window Tint FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the window tinting process take?

Most vehicles take between 2 and 4 hours depending on the number of windows and the complexity of the glass curves. We recommend planning for a half-day drop-off so the film has time to set properly before you drive.

Will window tint affect my visibility at night?

High-quality ceramic films maintain excellent optical clarity, even at lower VLT percentages. We'll help you choose a shade that meets your needs without compromising nighttime visibility. Our 30% and 70% options are popular with drivers who prioritize both heat rejection and clear sightlines.

Is window tinting worth it for older vehicles?

Absolutely. Older vehicles often have less effective factory glass. Adding ceramic tint protects aging interiors from further UV damage, reduces cabin temperature, and gives the vehicle a refreshed appearance. It's one of the highest-value upgrades you can make regardless of your vehicle's age.

Louisiana Window Tinting Laws

VLT (Visible Light Transmission)

Louisiana law requires a minimum of 40% VLT on the front side windows and allows any darkness on the rear side windows and back windshield. The windshield may have a non-reflective tint strip along the top above the manufacturer's AS-1 line.

Reflectiveness

Louisiana restricts the reflectiveness of window tint. Front and rear side windows must not be more than 20% reflective. Our ceramic films comply with all state regulations while delivering maximum heat rejection.

Staying Compliant

We help every customer choose a tint level that balances their preferences with Louisiana's legal requirements. If you're unsure what's allowed for your vehicle, our team will walk you through the options.
