Your vehicle is one of the largest investments you will ever make, and keeping it looking its best requires more than regular washing alone. Every mile you drive exposes your paint to rock chips, road debris, bug acids, bird droppings, UV rays, and Louisiana’s unpredictable weather. Over time, these hazards degrade your finish and eat into your resale value.
Paint protection film (PPF) is the most effective way to guard against that damage. A virtually invisible urethane layer is applied directly over your factory paint, absorbing impacts and self-healing minor scratches so the surface underneath stays pristine.
We’re Surface Protection Studio, Gonzales, LA’s trusted destination for professional PPF installation. In this guide we’ll walk you through how paint protection film works, the LLumar product lineup we carry, what to expect during installation, realistic cost considerations, and how to care for your film once it’s on the vehicle.
What Is Paint Protection Film?
Paint protection film—commonly called PPF or “clear bra”—is a thermoplastic urethane film engineered to absorb physical impacts before they reach your paint. The film is precision-cut using digital templates and applied by hand to every curve and contour of a vehicle’s body panels. High-quality PPF is optically clear, so it won’t alter your car’s color or finish. Modern films also feature a self-healing top coat: light scratches and swirl marks disappear on their own when exposed to heat from the sun or warm water, keeping the surface looking freshly installed for years.
How Does LLumar PPF Protect Your Vehicle?

LLumar is a brand of Eastman Performance Films, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of window and paint protection products. Backed by decades of polymer science research, LLumar PPF uses advanced urethane chemistry and proprietary adhesive systems to deliver outstanding clarity, durability, and self-healing performance. Every LLumar film is factory-backed with a manufacturer warranty and extensively tested against real-world hazards including stone chips, road salt, insect acids, and UV exposure. When professionally installed, LLumar PPF forms a seamless, nearly invisible barrier that keeps your paint in showroom condition mile after mile.
LLumar PPF Product Lineup

LLumar PPF
LLumar’s foundational paint protection film delivers reliable defense against rock chips, road debris, and everyday surface scratches. Available in both Gloss and Matte finishes, this film is an excellent entry point for drivers who want proven protection at an accessible price. It features self-healing technology that smooths out light abrasions with ambient heat, plus a 5-year factory-backed warranty for lasting peace of mind.

LLumar Platinum PPF
Platinum is LLumar’s mid-tier film and the most popular choice among our clients. It pairs the same robust impact protection with a hydrophobic polymer top coat that repels water, dirt, oils, and bug splatter on contact. The Gloss version is available in extra-wide 72-inch rolls, allowing full-hood coverage without visible seams—a significant advantage on larger vehicles. Platinum also comes in a Matte option for factory-flat finishes. Self-healing technology and a 10-year manufacturer warranty make this an outstanding value for long-term protection.

LLumar Valor PPF
Valor is LLumar’s flagship film and the ultimate in paint protection technology. Built on Eastman’s proprietary Tetrashield™ protective resin system, Valor combines premium PPF with ceramic-coating-level surface performance in a single application. Its super-hydrophobic top coat delivers up to 25 percent more stain resistance than standard films, while self-healing properties keep the surface flawless. The result is an exceptionally smooth, high-gloss finish free of orange-peel texture, backed by an industry-leading 12-year warranty.
How Long Does LLumar PPF Last?
Longevity depends on the product tier you choose and how the film is maintained. LLumar’s base PPF carries a 5-year warranty, Platinum is covered for 10 years, and the top-tier Valor comes with a 12-year factory warranty against yellowing, cracking, peeling, bubbling, and delamination. In practice, well-maintained film often outlasts its warranty period. Professional installation is critical to this lifespan—when PPF is applied by a trained and certified installer, edges seal properly and the adhesive bonds uniformly, preventing premature lifting or contamination underneath the film.

How Much Does PPF Cost?
PPF pricing depends on the amount of coverage, the film tier selected, and the complexity of your vehicle’s body lines. At Surface Protection Studio, our packages start at $1,499 for partial front coverage and run up to $5,499 for full-body protection—you can see the current breakdown on our paint protection film page. The product tier matters too: Valor’s advanced ceramic-hybrid technology commands a higher material cost than the base LLumar film.
We keep our pricing transparent so you can build a protection plan that fits both your priorities and your budget. Our team will walk you through every option, explain the trade-offs, and help you choose the coverage level that makes the most sense for how you drive and where you park.
Which PPF Package Is Right for You?
We offer four coverage levels, and the right one comes down to how you drive and how long you plan to keep the vehicle.
Partial Front ($1,499). Covers the leading edge of the hood, the front bumper, mirrors, and headlights—the zones that take the most direct hits from road debris. This is the smart starting point for daily drivers and leased vehicles where you want meaningful protection without covering panels that rarely get hit.
Full Front ($1,999). Extends coverage to the entire hood and full fenders, eliminating the visible line where a partial-hood film ends. This is our most popular package, and the one we recommend for new vehicles: highway commuters kick up debris well past the front edge of the hood, and full panels simply look cleaner.
Track Package ($2,699). Adds rocker panels, A-pillars, and the leading roof edge on top of full front coverage. Built for owners who run track days, drive gravel or construction routes regularly, or tow—anywhere debris comes in low and fast from multiple angles.
Full Body ($5,499). Every painted panel, wrapped. This is the choice for collector cars, high-end sports cars, and owners who plan to keep a vehicle for the long haul and want the entire finish preserved in factory condition. Paired with a ceramic coating on top, it’s the most complete protection package we install.
